Pattern Mixing Leprechauns

With St. Patrick's Day coming up there have been lots of talk about Leprechauns around our house. Everyday Averie has come home from school telling us all about Leprechaun traps, hunts and more! Jeff is determined to teach her that it's an Irish holiday and where Ireland is. Time will tell if she remembers. This weeks style tip is all about pattern mixing.

Pattern mixing is a term that has always sounded terrifying. However it doesn't have to be. My favorite way to pattern mix is to use floral patterns and stripes. I love it even more when I can buy a cute top that does the work for me like the one below.

If you're not a floral kind of girl you can mix different patterns together. Below are 3 different types of ways you can pattern mix like a pro.

1. Polka dots and stripes always go together.

2. Just starting to mix patterns? Stick to neutral colors like black, white, cream etc.

3. Spread your prints out across your outfit. For example you could wear a floral cardigan with a white tank top underneath a cute pair of jeans and tie it together with a striped pair of shoes.
